If there are household members with compromised lung health, COPD, asthma, or immune conditions, mold in the duct system should be treated as urgent.

Possibly it depends on the cause and your specific policy. Mold resulting from a sudden water event (like a pipe burst) is more commonly covered than mold from long-term moisture. We document thoroughly, which supports the insurance process.
What’s visible at the vent face is often the smallest part of what’s in the system. A full inspection determines actual extent. We don’t recommend treating what’s visible and assuming the rest is clean.
